Putri Nurul A’la, S.Pd., MInter&TransSt.

Hi! I’m Putri Nurul A’la, born in Banda Aceh on March 2, 1996, but raised in Lhokseumawe. Currently, I’m a lecturer at the Department of English Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Universitas Syiah Kuala. I completed my bachelor’s degree in English education at USK in 2018, and then I pursued my Master’s in Interpreting and Translation Studies at Monash University, Australia, graduating in 2021.
I’ve had the opportunity to teach English at various levels, from elementary school all the way to postgraduate courses, which has been both challenging and rewarding. I’m also a professional translator, and I love how translation allows me to connect with people from all walks of life. Managing multiple projects, especially in a fast-paced environment, is something I’ve grown accustomed to, and I take pride in delivering quality work on time.
My research interests are mainly in translation, sociolinguistics, and literature, where I get to explore the fascinating ways language influences culture and communication. I’m always looking for new learning opportunities to keep myself sharp and stay competitive in this ever-evolving field.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending my time with a few hobbies that keep me creative and grounded. Cooking is one of my favorite ways to relax, and I love experimenting with new recipes. I also enjoy playing guitar and singing, which allows me to unwind and express myself musically. Sightseeing is another passion of mine—whether it’s exploring new places or trying unique foods from different places, I love discovering new flavors and cultures, which always inspires my work and personal growth. These hobbies help me maintain balance in my busy life.
