The Fun English Corner (FECo), a forum dedicated to enhancing the English learning experience for students of the English Education Study Program at FKIP USK, hosted a vibrant Potluck Party and Secret Game Event. This activity took place on the second floor of FKIP’s auditorium and brought together students, lecturers, and international guests in a celebration of food, culture, and language.

An Inclusive and Interactive Event

Initiated by Ms. Marisa Yoestara, M.A (TESL), this event encouraged participants to bring various dishes to share. Adding to the excitement, several lecturers, including Dr. Dian Fajrina, Prof. Dr. Yunisrina Qismullah Yusuf, Dr. Dohra Fitrisia, Nira Erdiana, Chairina, Diana Fauzia Sari, and Ms. Tgk. Maya Silviyanti, contributed homemade delicacies that enriched the event’s culinary diversity.

Special international guests Tata Drame from Mali and Ahliah H. Salic Madid from the Philippines brought dishes from their home countries, which were warmly received by the enthusiastic participants.

Fun Games and Activities

The event began with a sharing session where participants introduced their dishes and described their origins. This was followed by the “Forbidden Number Game,” where participants took turns counting in English, substituting specific numbers with the word “boom.” Those who made mistakes were tasked with guessing English slang terms prepared by the organizers.

Another highlight was the “Spin the Bottle” game, during which participants answered personal questions in English, fostering both fluency and fun. The event concluded with a heartfelt gift exchange and a group photo session, leaving everyone with lasting memories.

Ms. Marisa expressed her gratitude for the hard work and support of Ms. Anisah, S.Pd., M.A., Ms. Dian Fajrina, and the dedicated team from ESA, including Lisa, Novri, Allisa, Syara, Munira, Diva, Nadia, Nasya, Mellisa, Nini, and Sultan.
