On Monday, December 23, 2024, TEFLIN Korwil Aceh, the Pidie Education Office (Disdikbud Pidie), and the Language Center of Universitas Syiah Kuala (Pusat Bahasa USK) collaborated to host a highly insightful workshop on “Teaching Smarter: Integrating TPACK for Better English Learning” at the Bappeda Hall in Pidie. The workshop aimed to equip English teachers with the tools and knowledge to integrate modern technological approaches into language teaching, aligning with current digital advancements in education.
The event featured prominent speakers in the field, including Prof. Dr. Zulfadli, S.Pd., M.A., Chairperson of TEFLIN Aceh, Dr. Kismullah, S.Pd., M.App.Ling, Head of the USK Language Center; Marisa Yoestara, S.Pd., M.A. (TESL), a lecturer in the English Education Department at USK; and Eridafithri, S.Pd., M.A. (TESOL), a senior English teacher and TPACK practitioner at SMA Fajar Harapan Banda Aceh. These experts shared their insights on how integrating TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) can enhance English language teaching and improve learning outcomes.
The workshop was officially opened by Heryadi S.Ag., M.Pd., Head of the Teacher Development Division at Disdikbud Pidie, who praised TEFLIN Korwil Aceh for selecting Pidie as the venue for this important event. The workshop’s success reflects the growing commitment to improving English language education through innovative teaching methods that blend technology with traditional pedagogy, ensuring that educators stay equipped to meet the challenges of the modern classroom.
